Importance of drinking water

As I am sure you have heard before, water is essential to our health and wellbeing. Water can help regulate your body temperature and help protect your joints and organs. Making sure you are drinking enough water can be difficult. An easy way to make sure you are drinking enough is to divide your bodyweight in half and convert it to ounces. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you should drink about 75 ounces of water per day. Make sure to stay hydrated!

Ways to stay active during winter

It starting to get to that time of year where the weather is cold and rainy. This type of weather can often limit your ability to get outside and be physically active. It's very important to move your body and get some exercise in even inside your home! Some easy ways are to do yoga, pilates, or even just going for a walk on a treadmill. Youtube offers great resources for exercises that are easy to do within your own home. If you don't want to workout alone, you can invite your friends to join in on the fun! Have fun and be creative with your workouts!

Healthy snack ideas

Choosing what to eat as a snack can be difficult, especially because a lot of snacks are not always the healthiest. I have found the protein balls are a quick and easy snack to keep you fueled and going about your day. They are super easy to make and are able to be made ahead of time and kept until your ready to eat them. You can make protein balls many different ways depending on our desired preference. Here's the recipe that I have found to be my personal favorite. - 1 cup of peanut butter -1 cup of oats - 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips -1 Tbsp honey - 1 tsp vanilla You could also add protein powder into the recipe if your looking to add more protein into your snack. I have also seen recipes that incorporate flax seeds, or other types of seeds. I hope you enjoy your protein balls and I'm looking forward to seeing your recipe ideas in the comments below!

Hello, all! It's starting to get close to that time of year where we start studying for finals! While studying for finals is super important, it is also very important to give yourself breaks and time to refocus. One way you can do this is take take a few minutes to do a simple breathing exercise to calm down and help you to focus on whatever task is at hand. The exercise is called box breathing and it's super simple. Here's how it works: - Breathe in for 4 seconds - Hold for 4 seconds - Exhale for 4 seconds - Hold for 4 seconds Repeat this activity a few times until you notice yourself feeling calm! Good luck with your upcoming assignments, and remember to take some time for yourself!
